Fiesta Pink Bow Dress

Lilly Pulitzer Antonia Dress Fiesta Pink

Lilly Pulitzer Antonia Dress in Fiesta Pink

Do you ever see little kids in the street with legitimately cute outfits on, and think wow, I’d actually wear that?

I’ve expressed that particular statement out loud an embarrassingly large amount of times (apologies if you were the person I was with at the time), and I feel like the adult clothing gods have finally answered my prayers with this particular dress. That bow absolutely kills me. I may also have it in two different colors and patterns …

URBN Summer Internship 2017 Welcome BBQ

This week I started my internship at URBN.

It’s been a really intense yet enjoyable time — I’ve never experienced anything like it before. I’m going to let the pictures do most of the talking here and dive into my day-to-day activities in a future post.

Sunday kicked off the program with a barbeque for the Intern Class of 2017. I hadn’t taken the train or subway in upwards of two years, so I left early to make it to the Home Office on time. I was blown away by the aesthetic of Building 3, where the event was being held. It’s all white walls and big windows and photo-ready backdrops. Later I learned that they used the space to do photoshoots.

I kinda want to decorate my future house like this, not gonna lie.

Pretty soon, people started trickling in. There were 77 total interns working in various departments, from buying to finance to styling to social media to IT. Everyone was super well-dressed and excited to be there — meeting and greeting them reminded me of college orientation, only instead of “hey, what’s your major?”, we were asking “hey, what department are you working in?”

Food came soon after, and oh boy did they feed us — I’m pretty sure I’m unofficially known as “that one intern who held up the food line by taking a million pictures.” The food at my college is notoriously horrible, though, so I wasn’t about to wolf it all down without snapping a few first 😉

After lunch, we went on a tour of the premises. This was my tour group! URBN’s buildings are located close together and the entire place feels like a very aesthetically pleasing college campus.

The next day was Orientation, where each intern was actually taken to their respective teams. This is my desk before I started decorating — there’s a lot more color to it now!

I can’t believe I’ve already been here for a week; more details to come ASAP. There’s still no Wi-Fi at my house — hopefully, that gets sorted out soon so I can get back to posting regularly.

Aesthetic: The social butterfly you see at all the events on campus. Effervescent and aggressively friendly. Is impossible to have an awkward interaction with.

Good with names and faces. Knows absolutely everybody and has no qualms about initiating conversations with strangers. Somehow remembers everything you say. Does not care about social status and will blatantly be friends with everyone.

I Tried the Unicorn Frappuccino So You Don’t Have To

Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino

Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino

Express dress | Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino

This is the first time I’ve stepped into a Starbucks inside a Macy’s inside a mall.

I’m thinking of how the setup is like a configuration of Russian dolls, stores in stores in a giant conglomeration of stores, when the guy behind the counter flashes me a jolly smile. “Good afternoon! What’ll it be today?”

“I’ll have a tall Unicorn Frappuccino,” I reply, cringing a little on the inside. Even I’m judging myself. Last night a good friend of mine who worked at Starbucks had gone on a rant about how much she hated the drink, from its super-sugary contents to the fact that blenders had to be washed out after each use to the grown women who threw tantrums upon finding out that ingredients had run out. I decided to try it out for myself the next day. Why not? I’d received a Starbucks gift card this past Christmas and needed an excuse to use it.

Valentine’s Day Party

Forget about flowers, chocolate, and obligatory sentiment — to me, Valentine’s Day is all about aesthetic. Pink! White! Red! Hearts! Sign me up.

I’ve been scrolling through other bloggers’ V-Day looks ever since they started coming out a few weeks ago, and although I may be a little late to the party, I’m in love (pun intended) with how whimsical this dress looks. You know you’re doing something right when five-year-olds in public stare at you like you’re a real-life princess.

I wore this outfit to my school’s Valentine’s Day Center of the Universe Party (see the one I wore to the last COUP here). The theme was “Realms of the Human Unconsciousness”, which meant blacklight dance floors and trippy murals everywhere. If possible, I had an even better time than I did at the last one, and ended up breaking in those seven-inch heels seen above by dancing in them all night. I may have been a little sore the next day, but pain is beauty. Worth. So worth.

If you’re celebrating V-Day with a special someone, I hope you get some have a great time! I’ll be spending some quality time with my Intro to Artificial Intelligence textbook all night long. 😉

The Hottest Pink of Them All

Lush dress | A’gaci heels | Forever 21 sunglasses

Bright, in-your-face pink is my favorite color for a reason: it’s confident, unapologetically femme, and bold instead of dainty (like me!). A dress in this shade is so girly that it’s my go-to when meeting new people.

Destroying stereotypes while looking pretty and polished is one of my favorite hobbies. Grab your favorite pink frock, swipe on that berry-flavored lip gloss, and go conquer the world. Bonus if you’re wearing killer heels: it adds to the effect.

I’m currently in Indiana with my sister for Boilermake, a hackathon (from “hack” and “marathon”, defined as “an event, typically lasting several days, in which a large number of people meet to engage in collaborative computer programming” by the Google dictionary) at Purdue University. We’ll be coding through the entire weekend; the goal is to have a working prototype of an iOS app by the end. I’m super to learn a new programming language and consume metric tons of caffeine. Wish me luck!

I’m back! I say that a lot, but one day I’ll post consistently. Pinkie swear.

Things I’ve done in my (unintentional) hiatus: Finally learned how to code properly in Java, taught myself the more abstract parts of discrete mathematics, stepped down from my student government position, went on several shopping sprees, developed a small Lilly Pulitzer obsession, got caught up in all of my classes, finished the first season of Scream Queens, became an officer on the Exec Board of my school’s Toastmasters club, finished the third season of House of Cards, re-discovered my love for The Fray’s first album, changed my code editor so that all my code was pink, and somehow managed to survive off of animal crackers, Coca-Cola, and frequent trips to Chipotle through this entire ordeal

I thought about being Barbie for Halloween the other day, but then I realized that I’d literally be wearing the same thing that I normally do. Nevertheless, I was inspired to don this bright pink sheath dress (it has pockets!) and enjoy a nice afternoon at the waterfront. Gotta get in some of this Florida sunshine before it gets to be too chilly to wear dresses.
